We’ll meet you at the hotel in Cairo, and travel to spend a full day visits in Alexandria, where you’ll get to see (The Roman tombs 'Catacombs’ - The Archaeological Area of Pompei Pillar - The Roman Theater – The Greek Roman Museum - Bibliotheca Alexandria), and have Lunch in a typical restaurant.
Pompey’s Pillar
This memorial column was built in 298 – 302 A.D as a token of appreciation for Emperor Diocletian to honor his triumph over an uprising in Alexandria.
The Greek Roman Museum
It was constructed in 1892 in a small building on that housed a five-room apartment. The museum contains several pieces dating from the Greco-Roman (Ptolemaic) era in the 3rd century BC, such as a sculpture of Apis in black granite, the sacred bull of the Egyptians, mummies, sarcophagus, tapestries, and other objects offering a view of Greco-Roman civilization in contact with ancient Egypt.
Roman Tombs ‘Catacombs’
These catacombs, were unintentionally found in 1900 when a donkey disappeared through the ground. They are the largest known Roman burial site in Egypt and among the last significant structures devoted to the ancient Egyptian religion.
Library of Alexandria
One of the biggest and most important libraries in the ancient world. The library was a part of the Mouseion a research institute devoted to the nine goddesses of the arts, known as the Muses.
After a full day visits, we’ll return to Cairo.
